Let the food (& shopping) begin....

Hello all! Here are a few pictures of the latest meals that we've been enjoying. Too bad there isn't smellivision because this food is *delicious* and I know you would be salivating...as i'm sure a few of you are. Since we've found the local market and bread & pasta makers, we've really been taking advantage of all the local fresh food. yum! We've been going out to shop in the early evening and coming home to make dinners, which has been nice since Seren heads to bed pretty early. We tried to go out to dinner the other night and realized that the cafes & restaurants don't start serving food until 8pm! Most people head out for drinks after work, sit for a few hours smoking and talking and then eat dinner late. By the way, we forgot how much people love to smoke in Europe - we haven't breathed in this much smoke since pre- NYC public cigarette ban! Most stores here open later too, around 10am and then close again for lunch from 12:30 - 2:30pm and then stay open to about 8pm. They are also completely closed on Mondays.

I've also broken the shopping seal and made my first few purchases here, which I am happy about, but is making Steve nervous with the financial markets in the shape they are in. He thinks that I am, single-handedly, going to reverse the trends in the markets with all my shopping! I've already warned him that I will be making a few large purchases here...must-buys if you are a female and in Italy: shoes and hand bags. As they say, a girl can never have too many. Although the price tags may have been a bit steep for my liking, the shoes that I got were made locally here in Pavia and in Bologna, so the workmanship is well worth the cost...or I could just be trying to rationalize the purchase. Either way, they are beautiful shoes :)

I'll be back after our trip out to Milan on Saturday! Hope you are all well! Tanti Baci!

Happy anniversary, Steve and Terry!

Love the pictures of the apartment, food and the town. I can see how shopping daily works so well. How could the shopkeepers not be captivated by Seren.

We're thinking of you all.

Love, Dad

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you 'lovebugs'!!
Seren seems to have adapted to the changes without problems...must be smelling all that wonderful food and of course "Italian" leather!
(in response to "rationalizing the purchases")
Enjoy....hugs and kisses to you.

Sounds like you guys are settling in nicely. Everything looks beautiful, especially the yummy food. I am a little disappointed though that there isn't a picture of the newly purchased shoes. :(
